Vestibular Rehabilitation
Bringing Balance Back
Vestibular rehabilitation is used to treat disorders or symptoms, characterized by dizziness, vertigo, and trouble with balance, posture, and vision.
What is vestibular rehabilitation?
Vestibular rehabilitation is a program that was designed by specifically trained physical therapists and is an exercise-based program. It improves balance and reduces problems related to dizziness.

- Neck tightness, stiffness and/or pain
- Imbalance or the need to hold onto objects when walking
- Headaches
- Frequent falls
- Generalized “dizziness, wooziness and foggy head” feelings
- Vertigo/spinning

One of our certified health practitioners will evaluate your symptoms and review medical history. You can expect all or some of the following:
- Balance and/or leg strength/flexibility
- Gait (how you walk)
- Visual stability and mobility
- Neck mobility and neck and arm strength
- Positional testing, including an inner ear exam
A treatment plan will be put together to address all identified issues. The goal is to make you feel more confident in everyday life and reduce the risk of a fall.
In most cases, vestibular rehabilitation therapy will be all that is needed to address the issues at hand. However sometimes it is a part of the presurgery/postsurgery treatment plan, and other treatment may be required.
